- John Beck
John has used his Cadaver Detection Dogs on numerous searches for many local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in Nebraska and the midwest. In addition to training his own dogs, John serves as a trainer and judge for Midwest Canine Alternatives and has served as an instructor for NASDN and other organizations. John was the Nebraska Coalition for Victims of Crime's Volunteer of the Year in 2004 and received the Lincoln Police Department's Certificate of Merit in 2008. When John is not working with dogs, he earns his living as a filmmaker.
- Marion Byerson
Marion is retired from the La Crosse, Wisconsin Police Department where he worked as an Explosives K9 Handler, a Narcotics K9 Handler and as an Investigator specializing in gang and drug activity. He is currently a Flotilla Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, a Deputy with the Monroe and Jackson County Sheriff's Depts. and works security for the Green Bay Packers. Marion brings a wide range of experience in Police and Search Dog Training. He serves as an instructor for organizations including Western Wisconsin Technical College and The Wisconsin State Patrol Academy.
- Roy Engebretson
Roy owns Midwest Canine Alternatives, a business that trains and maintains K9 units for police departments in seven midwestern states. He served as head trainer for the Minneapolis Police K9 Training Center during the 1980's and 1990's. Roy has trained hundreds of teams in patrol work, cadaver detection, drug detection, bomb detection and tracking. He has been certified as a United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) National Judge and Level 3 trainer.
- Kim Gilmore
Kim has worked with Search and Rescue dogs since 1985. She is currently serving with Brenner, a Belgian Tervuren, her fifth Search Dog. Kim is experienced in a variety of search disciplines including Air Scent, Avalanche and Cadaver Detection. She has responded to hundreds of searches, both domestically and abroad, as a ground pounder, support or K9 Handler. Kim's awards include 1998 and 2006 Flathead County Search and Rescue Volunteer of the Year and the 2004 Flathead County Sheriff's Commendation. She works as a Registered Nurse in western Montana.
- Kathy Lewis
Kathy found her passion 4 ½ years ago when she joined Flathead County Search and Rescue in Kalispell, MT, first as a flanker, then with her first SAR dog, a Belgian Tervuren named Stryker. Kathy and Stryker are currently certified by Flathead County Search & Rescue in: Area Search, Cadaver, Human Remains Detection, Disaster First Responder - Building Search, Disaster First Responder - Junk Yard Search and training in Water (open and shore) and Avalanche Search. They also hold certifications from NASDN in Area and Cadaver and have just passed their International Police Work Dog Association certifications in Basic Area and Basic Cadaver search.
- Chuck Morris
Chuck spent six years as K9 Unit Kennel Master for the El Dorado Correctional Facility, El Dorado, Kansas. He was responsible for the training and care of three narcotic detection/patrol police service canines (one BM and two GSD’s) and two man-tracking canines (Bloodhounds). Chuck served as handler for the facilities Bloodhounds and worked them successfully on a variety of incidents. Chuck and his dogs have been certified by the Kansas Police Dog Association and the North American Search Dog Network.
- Deb Stanton
Deb has worked with bloodhounds for 20 years. She joined NASDN in 1994 and became an instructor for the
Mantrailing classes in 1998. Her Bloodhound Eugene is one of two dogs in Canada that has earned the Mantrailer Excellent title. She is a mantrailing judge for the Canadian Bloodhound Club. Deb's knowledge of canine behavior and her wonderful sense of humor make her a very popular instructor. She works as a Veterinary Technologist/Anesthesiologist in Toronto.
- Dawn Sword
Dawn has been a member of NASDN for 10 years and is currently a member of
NASDN'S Board of Directors. She has been a mantrailing instructor and
evaluator since 2004. She is a member of a local volunteer search dog group
in Ontario, Canada and has had bloodhounds as part of her family for 18
years. Dawn is a judge for the Canadian Bloodhound Club's annual
Mantrailing Trials.
She has a working bloodhound and therapy dog named "Edgar" and lives on a
farm in the Toronto area.
- Bill "Red" Taylor
Bill has been a member of Sault SAR in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario for over forty years. He was a squad leader for twenty five years. Bill has a wealth of experience training and working with Bloodhounds. He is also a licensed radio operator and is responsible for training members of Sault SAR in map and compass techniques, operation of boats, 4 X 4 bikes, specialty trucks and winches. Bill is retired from Bell Canada.
- Robin Walker
Robin has been a Bloodhound owner for 22 years. She has been member of NASDN for ten years and has instructed for eight. Robin has been involved as a SAR volunteer for a dozen years and has responded to hundreds of searches throughout the midwest. She currently currently works a Bloodhound in both live and cadaver searches.
