    Chris is currently the Operations Officer for CLSAR as well as the Evaluations Coordinator for the Northern States Search Dog Network. His talk will include information on cost effective ways to get the most out of tools like GPS and Computer Mapping Software.

  • Sarah Garfunkel
    Sarah has been actively working with Search Dogs since 1990. She and her dogs have been certified in a variety of diciplines by NASDN, NASAR, NOCDS, LETS and MSDN. She has worked more than 100 searches. She has been an instructor NASDN, NOCDS, TSARDA and other organizations. Sarah works as a Veterinarian in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

  • Michelle Metzner
    Michelle is a longtime SAR Dog Handler from Wisconsin. She has worked with multiple breeds including GSD, Bloodhounds, Malinois and Retrievers since 1992 and has been certified in a variety of diciplines by NASDN, NASAR, NOCDS and other organizations. She has instructed a wide variety of classes for national and regeonal organizations. Michelle is a Veterinary Inside Account Manager in Appleton, Wisconsin.

  • Chuck Morris
    Chuck spent six years as K9 Unit Kennel Master for the El Dorado Correctional Facility, El Dorado, Kansas. He was responsible for the training and care of three narcotic detection/patrol police service canines (one BM and two GSD’s) and two man-tracking canines (Bloodhounds). Chuck served as handler for the facilities Bloodhounds and worked them successfully on a variety of incidents. Chuck and his dogs have been certified by the Kansas Police Dog Association and the North American Search Dog Network.

  • David Partin
    Dave has been involved in emergency services for over twenty five years as firefighter, EMT, and member of his local rescue squad. He is trained in and participates in many types of rescue work including vehicle extrication, high/low angle rescue, swift water rescue/recovery, and SAR as well as SAR management. He has been involved in training trailing dogs for twelve years and has participated in NASDN seminars since 1995, with the last three years as mantrailing instructor.

  • Sharolyn Sievert
    Sharolyn has been a member of Central Lakes Search & Rescue in Minnesota since 2003. She and her dog are certified in Air Scent Area Search and Cadaver Detection. In addition to her work with Search Dogs, Sharolyn has served as a volunteer foster home for her local Humane Society, taking the "problem" dogs for evaluation and basic obedience training. She and her dog Ariel have worked with multiple law enforcement agencies in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

  • Bill "Red" Taylor
    Bill has been a member of Sault SAR in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario for over forty years. He was a squad leader for twenty five years. Bill has a wealth of experience training and working with Bloodhounds. He is also a licensed radio operator and is responsible for training members of Sault SAR in map and compass techniques, operation of boats, 4 X 4 bikes, specialty trucks and winches. Bill is retired from Bell Canada.

  • Bob Thielen
    Bob and his wife, Shelly (also a K-9 handler) were founding members of K-9 Search Services in Minnesota in 1996. He and his Yellow Lab, Scout specialize in Air Sent Area Search and Cadaver Detection. Bob has served as Evaluations Coordinator and Training Coordinator for the Minnesota Search Dog Network. In the Army Reserve he served as a Light/Arctic Infantry Scout, with skills and specialized training in search and rescue operations and working in cold weather / arctic environments and terrain. Bob is currently employed by the Boy Scouts of America.

  • Steve Wald
    Steve has trained general purpose police patrol dogs for fifteen years, three German Shepherds and one Malinois. In 1991 he started training Bloodhounds. He and his Bloodhounds live in Austin, Minnesota and have been used by numerous Law Enforcement Agencies in a four state area and many area Search and Rescue teams. In addition to being a trainer with NASDN, Steve is a trainer with the National Police Bloodhound Association and a member of the United States Police Canine Association.

  • Robin Walker
    Robin has been a Bloodhound owner for 22 years. She has been member of NASDN for ten years and has instructed for eight. Robin has been involved as a SAR volunteer for a dozen years and has responded to hundreds of searches throughout the midwest. She currently has two hounds that work both live and cadaver searches.
